Samsung Galaxy Note priced, pre-orders start

Samsung’s monster-sized smartphone-cum-micro-tablet has gone on pre-order on online retailer Clove, a matter of days after it was unveiled at the IFA tech expo.

Clove is listing the handset for a wallet-sapping £600 when bought off contract. But for that outlay you are bagging something that promises to make the likes of the budget-friendly AndyPad slate look like a Speak & Spell.

Not least because it’ll pack a 5.3-inch, lush Super AMOLED HD screen, Android 2.3 Gingerbread out of the box and a 1.4GHz processor of the dual care variety to keep everything running super smooth.

It’s also home to a two-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls, an eight-megapixel camera with LED flash at the rear and offers 1080p video playback, plus 16GB internal storage that you can boost by up to 32GB via microSD support.

UK availability has yet to be confirmed. But, pending an S2 legal hiccough, we reckon it’ll debut in the next couple of months or so.
